NNF Pressrelease: The potential of food and meals as creative industries
The New Nordic Food II programme has published its first report on Food and the Creative Industries by Björn Ylipää, Sweden. The project is being run as a collaboration between the Nordic Council of Ministers and the Nordic Creative Economy (KreaNord). The report describes food and meals as a creative industry creating employment, growth and exports for the Nordic countries.
- Despite the international progress of Nordic cuisine there continues to be a huge untapped potential for Nordic companies and institutions which see food as a marketing tool. Co-operation with other creative industries will create new, exciting experiences with food and meals. This broadens the market, as well as creating completely new types of events, with a mixture of different artistic expressions", says Björn Ylipää.
